Mr. Robert Monti, Analyst

Mr. Robert Monti joined Sigma Capital in 2011 as an analyst.  At Sigma Robert is responsible for business development, due diligence, and financial modeling of renewable power projects.

Before joining Sigma Capital, Robert interned at Standard and Poor’s in the Insurance Group.  At S&P, Robert was responsible for assigning credit ratings for 2 property and casualty insurance companies by analyzing key credit and equity metrics as well the companies' portfolio holdings and presenting his findings to committee.  This included analyzing the SEC filings of property and casualty insurance companies to determine peer comparables by comparing pricing strategies, capital structures, and market share to assess creditworthiness. Robert was also tasked with performing qualitative analysis of property and casualty insurance industry by analyzing market share, business models, and technological efficiency.  He also participated in interviews of top management of client companies as background for credit rating assessment and presented findings to the property and casualty rating committee.

Prior to that, he worked for 3 years at UBS LLC, in New York, NY as an account manager in the Prime Services Department.  At UBS, Robert managed 46 hedge fund client relationships, the largest book of hedge fund clients in the Prime Brokerage department.  At UBS, Robert analyzed clients’ daily trading activity with an average value of $12 MM and resolved any errors in the trade booking process and analyzed hedge fund clients’ trading activity for any improprieties or potential breaches of UBS policy.

Robert holds an MBA with a concentration in finance from Johnson School at Cornell University.  He also holds a BS degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Villanova University.  Robert is passionate about investment banking and gained much valuable experience studying under experienced banking professionals at Cornell University.  He is an avid follower of the world economy and world financial markets.
